February 22, 2010 Thompson Rivers University receives $2M donation
An historic $2 million pledge to Thompson Rivers University was announced at Saturday’s 18th Annual TRU Foundation Gala. Mark and Ellen Brown made the largest private pledge ever to the TRU Foundation to support the construction of the House of Learning and for the continued growth of the university and for the support of students.

February 16, 2010 RBC donates $5.3 million to communities on Olympic Torch Relay route
RBC today announced it has committed more than $5.3 million in donations from the RBC Foundation to local causes and charities in more than 180 communities on the route of the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay.

February 10, 2010 Chatham Daily News: Giving benefits from planning
Wills are designed to disperse a person's money and property according to their wishes, but a relatively small number of Canadians include charities in this important personal document. Diane MacDonald, national executive director of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners, said, "we know statistically 80 per cent of Canadians give during their lifetime, but only seven per cent (give) in their will."

February 09, 2010 Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) receives $1.25M d
The Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) has received a $1.25 million donation from Pfizer Canada for a patient health education program to be set up at CHUM. The hospital centre’s health promotion department will use this money over the next few years to support the clinical settings in the development of patient health education interventions.

A $4 million dollar gift from Winnipeg philanthropists John and Bonnie Buhler to the University of Winnipeg will support the construction of the Buhler Centre and will support business students with special scholarships.
